'Why did I choose my major (study program)?

 

I am a very spontaneous and crazy girl, so when I was a child I had so many dream jobs like veterinary, chef, actress, hairdresser, psychologist, dancer, tarotist, clairvoyant, and others.

 I was not sure what I wanted , but I always knew that medicine was not my thing. I never liked doctors.

During my teenage years I never thought about what I wanted to study because I never really wanted to study.  I never imagine myself as a university student, so I never thought about what to study.

Even when I had to take the PSU test, I really thought my results would be awful, but my results were excellent. At that moment I had a big mental breakdown because I had to take a decision, a choice I didn´t want to make. So when I had to apply for university  I had two options at two different universities, public administration and chartered accountant at Universidad de Chile and at the Universidad de Santiago. My first option was public administration at the Universidad de Chile, and surprise! Im in.

I decide to apply to these two study programs because I had to do so. I have to make the decision and one day I woke up and said: ok, I will study one of these two things. That was the process of my decision, very surprising and spontaneous.

Two years later, I´m studying at the university, online, so I have cero experiences to tell you, I have a few friends. I don´t know my faculty building, but on the bright side, I really like what I study.

When I started studying, one of my fears was that I wouldn´t like the career, but I like.  I think I have a vocation for this, because working in the public area needs a vocation, it is necessary for people who study public administration to love what they do, and I love it , so I hope that in the future I will be a good administrator.
